Damn! Not again! So sad. Now it's at 22 dead & 21 injured. Sounds like Columbine all over again, but twice as bad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the victims and their families. EDIT: Now ABCnews.com is saying at least 25 are dead and it will probably go higher. Some students jump out their dorm windows to escape the shooter and sustained injuries from jumping. EDIT II: Now it's 29 dead. Un freakin' real! EDIT III: 32 dead. Speechless

My theory... people like that, when they want to kill things, and don't care if they come out alive, should step forward, we could send them to Iraq, or Afgan or something.... drop them in a hostle area with a vest of clips and a rifle. they can take out 30 or so hostles and we get rid of them at the same time......It is really sad how life now a days revolves around killing. What ever happened to the world peace idea?

My prayers for the victims, the students and all the families...Without escalating this to a Political Asylum-type discussion on the right to bear (and effectively use) arms, WHERE were the police during the two hours between the first shooting in the dorm and the mass murder in the classroom(s)???

Things like this always get me down. I can't imagine being one of the family members of something liek this, or columbine, or Sept. 11, or any of the trageties that have happened in american history. But when something like this happens, it just really gets me thinking of how fragile life is, and even the "toughest" of people, are helpless in situations like that. I just almost get scared thinking, how easy would it be to be at wal mart one day or something, and some guy just starts shooting, and something were to happen to me, or the wife, or my daughter.... Those families that have made it through these hard times get my respect, cause I would have a melt down if one of my loved ones was injured cause someone was having a bad day and wanted to kill others for no reason.

THere's lots more info on the shooter lately, and that guy was a total whacko. I have seen a lot of debate on other forums about gun control related to this shootinig, but from what they know about this guy, no amount of gun control was gonna keep anybody that psycho from doing something terribly evil.

You know I was just at Google News and noticed that the Virginia Tech shootings have been moved to the entertainment section. (removed)? Since when does this classify as entertainment? EDIT: The bottom of google news page says that the placement of stories is generated by a computer program... maybe that should be overseen by a human to make sure it makes sense and isn't offensive in such a case as this. I understand they are talking about NBC and the movie he apparently watched a lot, but to classify it under entertainment is just offensive IMO.

Ya'know, on the miscategorization thing with google news... I almost wonder if the "multimedia manifesto" term that was being kicked around was what threw the system for a loop and thought it belonged in a different category? Definitely sucks that happened, but computers are pretty stupid and have no emotions. Ugh. I wore orange today, not the exact orange but closest that I could get to their colors, it's the thought that counts I guess. I put everything aside at noon for a while and had my little moment of silence for all those involved in this horrible tragedy....

Oh for sure I know why it ended up under entertainment, but there should be a human monitoring the site, I would think.
