I'm shopping around for an intake for my '06 base. Hoping to get this installed over the summer. Wondering if $275CDN + tax is overpriced for an K&N intake or will this work?http://cgi.ebay.ca/Racing-Cold...wItemAlot cheaper

yes, that cosmo would workyou could try doin a search for more info, a few people have used the cosmo intakeswith the k&n you would also need an additional breather filter for the fat hose coming out under the valve cover, the additional breather filter would be about $15-20. i dont think the cosmo ones need it, they are made for the 05+*****editbreather filter in pichttp://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=23919

I have a cosmo on my 06 awd and did have fitment issues. To get it to fit properly you will need to take off the front bumper and driverside headlight to get everything lined up correctly. You will even need to cut some of the second peice of piping on the cosmo if you upgrade to an AEM dryflow filter and ditch their crappy filter.I ended up cutting off about 2inchs off one end and 4 inches off the other to get the dryflow to fit nicely above the fog light.

You'll have to cut the piping on ANY Vibe CAI. They were made for the Matrix but the Vibe has the fog lights in a different area. You'll usually have to cut about 2-3 inches off or more if you have the Throttle Body Spacer.

keep looking in the for sale forums. a used intake is just as good as a new one. you can always take the tube into the local K&N filter distributor and buy a new filter. otherwise, they are just as good after a cleaning.

I have a cosmo on my '06 base and had no fitment issues....didn't need to cut anything, or customize anything...... it just fit right on.

But did you have to choke the filter onto the pipe? I had it working on mine at first also but the filter had to be choked up over the pipe.........not good. I ended up cutting a lot. It is possible that they now make intakes for Vibes that are different than the Matrix. Early on they used the same ones for both - not a good idea.
