Got 14,000 Miles on the Vibe right now and having no problems but i am wondering how much mileage to expect from the clutch.....pretty aggressive driver however 70-80% of my mileage is highway so not stop and go driving. Anybody have experience with the toyota clutch or simply an idea how long to expect it around.Also....as a replacement the TRD clutch is $300 or so....what would it cost to get it installed????thx-Phil

I had a new one put in my first car....a 1986 Volvo 240DL.....it was a total (including the new clutch) of about $700I just dont know if that is normal or whattoo bad clutches dont fall under warranty....i took out the 100,000 mile warranty on the vibe-Phil

Figure on a good chunk of change for a clutch change. The volvo was probably cheap (I had an old 144) as its got a north/south engine with RWD tranny which means almost everything is easier. The Vibe has a transaxel which means they have to remove a lot of parts before they even get to the clutch.You shouldn't have a prob for a good 90,000 unless you drag your clutch on takeoff all the time or drag race a lot with the GT... lots of clutch slippage needed on that one!I'll bet we see clutches go a little sooner on the Vibe as the engine has such low torque at low rpm. I've found I'm slipping the clutch a little more in the Vibe than in most other cars.What's everyone else think?
