Yet ANOTHER scam....

So for three days in a row, I got a phone call from a travel agency in Florida. They would ask for me and start thier little "story" (I know I usually hang up on telemarketers, but sometimes I am humored by them). The lady told me how I won a trip using my checking account with one of thier "affiliates" in the last 5 years. They then read me my Name, phone number, adrress, Bank Name, and Bank Router Number to "prove" that I had won by using this account, and that was the adrress to send the prize too. They then said, to verify, I would have to read the rest of the numbers off a check to show I still had an active acount. I hung up and called them back, the guy that answered the phone already knew it was me calling (I am guessing with caller ID), and I asked him some questions about it all. He would assure me that they did not want to go to Jail, and already have the numbers (cause anyone that sees your checks have the numbers and you can't use them to get money and they are good people... etc etc.). So I yelled at him, telling him I pay bills online all the time with that number, it is worth money, he is gay, and hung up.....I looked up the scam, and it's all legal. What they do is get the account info, and when you get your trip, they charge you a small fee (usually under $50 for a 5 day trip with hotel). Then when you get to where you are going, there is another fee, and then there are more fees down the road.... and so on and so forth. So they are giving you the trip and doing what they say.... but they also charge you money for it all, and just do it in a way that if you ever want to cancel it already cost you more than it's worth. So be leary. I have spent every night this week calling the number and talking with the guy, aand then yelling at him and hanging up. I reported it to my bank, and tried to file a police report, but since they aren't doing anything illigal, there is nothing they will do..... So all my little Vibers, protect your numbers, don't give out info, and live long happy scam-free lives.
