New Vibe owner checking in

Hello fellow Vibe owners. After 2 weeks of searching, my dealer finally found me my Vibe. I just picked it up Saturday (7/6/02). What I wanted was silver (satellite) 2-tone, automatic, power package, 6-disc in-dash and the 17" wheels. My dealer did a car exchange with another dealer 60 miles away to get one close to what I wanted (silver 2-tone, automatic with the power package, base wheels and radio). My dealer is installing the 6-disc in-dash changer next week. 17x7" Voxx MGR wheels and Falken 215/50-17 tires will be arriving this Friday and I'm scheduled for the tint shop this Thursday. One thing my dealer forgot to pick up from the other dealer was the key fobs so I have to wait about a week until the mail them to my dealer.I wanted a GT but because my wife will be driving this car about 10% of the time, I had to get an auto. Much to my surprise, she actually liked it and liked driving it (she had never seen one in person until I brought it home from the dealer). I fell in love with the Vibe about a year ago when the issue of Car and Driver arrived with it and the Saturn Vue on the cover (still have that issue; click here to read the article on-line). The Voxx MGR wheels I ordered look exactly like the wheels on that pre-production Vibe in the article:A little about myself: I'm a car guy and I am the Administrator of the NovaResource.com web site (hence my username) http://www.novaresource.com I know a ton about Chevy Novas and participate on numerous Nova boards and e-mail listservs. I'm still new to the Vibe but I guess everyone is. Once the tint is done and the wheels arrive, I'll snap a few pics to post.BTW, my Vibe is my new daily driver, replacing my 1993 Pontiac Sunbird LE (red, 2-door, 3.1L V6, auto, aluminum wheels, decklid spoiler, power package, full gauges). It only had 73K miles on it, ran 15.5 in the quarter and was just a GREAT car. I sold it to my father-in-law and he loves it.My other 2 cars (2002 Chrysler Voyager and a 1976 Nova) are the exact same color silver. I'll have to take a picture of all three together.

Welcome to the forums. Take a seat and stay awhile. Your probably knowledgable about performance upgrades. Any info you'd like to add is very welcome.

d_m_kolb, yes, I do have experience with performance but the majority of it is on V8's and RWD. I know my new Vibe won't be quite as fast as the Sunbird it replaced but I'm hoping for at least mid 16's if not a high 15. I notice you are the administrator in the performance forum and you post alot on performance so I guess you've raced you Vibe. Have you? What's it run? Any mods?Since mine has just over 100 miles, I won't be beating on it for a little while but I'm sure I will soon enough. I'm dying to make a few G-Tech runs but I can't bring myself to do it yet. I'm also dying to race my friend and his ZX3 Focus (mid 16's). I've already spanked him with the Sunbird but now he thinks he can beat me (his only mod is an underdrive pulley system). Which reminds me, do they make underdrive pulleys for the Vibe? What else is out there? I assume there is a strong aftermarket for the engine since it's been in the Celica for a while. A K&N filter is a must. Do they make a FIPK for the 130-hp Vibe or just a stock replacement. I'd like to replace the stock air box since most are designed for quiet operation are are very restrictive.
