Hi. I'm receiving my Injen CAI tomorrow (Thursday the 20th). I know it comes with instructions, but I figured I'd ask those who've already installed their's for any problems they've run into so that I can avoid any. Any tips would be very much appreciated!!! Thanks!

Try this thread. It's an instalation to a Base Vibe, but it's basicly the same. You just have to attach a little cap the a vacuum valve under the larger throttle body of your GT that is different. The instructions and pics really suck from the dealer.

One word of advice. Put the filter on the end before you attach the other end to the TB. It's much easier that way.

quote:Can you feel any difference in everyday driving? If you do ANY mod, do the intake. It definitely adds power and even seemed to help low-end torque as well as mid and high range. Even if there was zero power gain, the very sweet ripping sound as it winds through the 'lift' from 6k through 8200rpm is absolutely amazing. It screams. Around town, at light throttle, you can't even really hear any noise difference from stock. The deeper sound is only there when you put your foot into the throttle!

Definitely yes. And when it's sitting there at idle, all your friends comment on the 'sucking' sound it's making. LoL The 2 easiest mods and ones that will give you noticeable power is intake and exhaust. More air in, throught the engine and back out means power.

Yeah...you can definitely tell... I love the "hissing sound" @ idle, too... Most wonder if you can really feel 12hp/7t, but you can...especially since our car is relatively light...And, yes, I did hurt my thumb a little...just a little blood blister, though...no biggie. I had a question... You know how the filter is exactly in the way of the fog lights? So, everybody just pushes it up another 1.5" - 2"... Do you think that restricts the breathing at all?? I know there should still be plenty of room (probably around another 3"), but I was just wondering what everybody thought... Another thing I was curious about was how potential warranty work would work if there was a CAI under the hood?? Would they make you put the stock unit back on?? If that's the case...that would really suck!!Anyway, definitely a worthwhile mod... Plus, it looks sweet under the hood. I probably won't do too much more to the car... Maybe some exhaust when I get some $$$ and 17" or 18" rims...Take care everybody.
