Yep, it's official GM designers have run out of ideas. The Utes are awesome. And if memory serves me correctly I believe they can come with an optional 6.0 liter V8.

I can't believe they're serious, especially after the lackluster sales of the SSR.

YES!Price it right ($19k for a V6, $25k for a V8) and I would buy one...my only question would be what to do with my other El Camino?

If the price was right and they would have brought the thing over years ago, I would have bought it! I remember dad saying something about this car several years back as there was a rumor going around then that they may do something like this. But now, I need some form of a "usable" rear seat, I can't imagine how much it would suck to drive one of those as I haul around my doggie! He's only 8 lbs and the crate is small but I wouldn't have anywhere to put the crate. And forget about a passenger then! Silly kids, taking all the fun out of everything! Oh well, the gas mileage will likely suck as all these Holdens will get out there and move. I tried to find fuel economy specs on the Ute but couldn't, not sure if they don't care about fuel consumption in Oz or not! Anyway, especially in the SS Thunder trim, that's one heckuva sharp ride. It's got more nads than the SSR ever dreamed of having. It's not trying to be cool and retro, it's just trying to be in your face aggressive. I think it would do better than the SSR, particularly if the price is sensible. (The SSR would have done better if priced at the level they originally said it would be.) And as the Ute was designed to actually haul cargo, that's another one up they have on the SSR. Although I'd guess the sportier models would have a lower payload due to the sporty suspension.Bring it!

I love it! They should bring it over as the El Camino. Only in 2 door form. If they don't expect to sell any more than about 10,000, then they should be in business. Come on GM, you know you want to make money, well here it is money on the table. It's ready to go, put a new badge, and grill on, and it's set.

Ford and GM have tons of those over in AUS and mexico, its nothing new at all. So it would just be like the GTO coming back to the US....so hahha i hope they dont screw it up. well the ones in AUS have massive engines and some are turbo...sooo fast.

I think they should just forget the rebadging and bring Holden over here Just convert all of them to left hand drive and they're done!

I cannot believe I'm saying this since it's probably sacrilegious to El Camino enthusiasts and hideous to non-enthusiast, but I really would prefer a 4 door version...it's what the Subaru Baja should have been.

ok, a bunch of you like it, but how many of you would actually buy one? it looks ok, but i would have no usage for one. To the guy that wants a 4 Cyl version... be ready to take a upper cut on depressiation. In 2005, a 00 Sonoma 4 cyl could not get you 1500$ on trade in.

As stated before, my decision to buy one would be based on what GM decides to charge for it. I would buy a $19,000 V6 (I'd be willing to go as high as $23,000 for a 4 door V6), but knowing GM they will likely only bring over a $35,000 V8, so I'd have to pass.

Not a problem for me....I drive them until they're worth much less than that. If it lasts 100k miles and cost less than $20,000, I'm interested. Make it a 4 door and I buy it in a heartbeat.
