				Stella's Gettin' New Shoes!

I know, it's just new tires, but I'm pretty excited! My mom and I are traveling to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area next weekend to visit my sister, and I mentioned to Mom once that I needed new tires. She then suggested we take her Montana up there, but I whined because then I wouldn't be able to listen to my iPod. So this morning she emails me and tells me she's giving me money for tires, and can I get them on before we leave next week? So my best friend goes up to Firestone and they have some Affinity ones (I think) in stock and they can do it this afternoon, so by 5:00 my car will be RID of the Conti's and hopefully I will be able to pull away from a stop in the snow in less than two minutes! Woohoo!

Do you like yours so far? I was going to start a topic here and ask everyone what they thought, but it all happened pretty fast and I didn't even have time! I'm not sure what kind I'm getting--hopefully it's that one. I think they are about $100 per tire--sound about right? Or am I getting screwed because I'm a blonde chick?

I love them so far. Excellent treadwear and quiet. They may be a litte noisy at first until they wear a little bit then they will quiet down. No problems with normal driving on dry or wet pavement. If gone through standind water at 60 and she held firm. No problems in the snow so far this winter with the 4" we have had so far. lol.Price sounds about right. WAIT! You're blonde?

Good. That's just what I want. I've hydroplaned a couple times so driving in water scares the **** out of me. I want something that will do well in the snow, and when the roads are wet. YES I'm blonde--and I was back in August too!

They are rated as an above average tire in wet & dry and average in snow. Here are some ratings you can read up on from Tire Rack:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...+LH30Ignore the first rating. lol. He most likely did not have the LH30's. Their previous version is the one that had these problems. Most you will see are in the high 9's and 10 for overall rating from current owners. Go read a few on the following pages to give you an idea of what to expect.Let me know what you think of them. Have fun driving home on your new tires.

Well, pretty good SO far. Turns out I needed a shim, so the car had to go back in Monday for that and to get the car balanced. I haven't noticed much difference around town, but I'm leaving tomorrow morning for parts north, so I'm excited for the ROAD TRIP!!! I'll let you know! Although.....we did get a wee bit of snow the other day, and I was able to pull away from a stop light in less than a minute--always a bonus.
