Anyone else get this letter recently?I got a letter asking me to turn over my car for a week to this independent testing company here in Mich to test the emissions on my 2003 Vibe. If I agreed, I would get a loaner car with a full tank of gas and $100 for my time. The car again would be gone for a week and I forget how many miles would be put on it but it stated they could possibly keep it longer too. The letter said my car would be stored indoors but in the event it would have to be outside, it would be behind a locked fence.Well first of all, I have never heard of this company. The letter and the survey looked like someone did it on their own PC and printer. The picture of the Vibe on the letter was not even a 2003! The survey if you decided to participate or not was stamped already. Oh and I highly doubt all the vehicles would be kept indoors, more like all stored outside. In the end I said no way! No one touches my cars but me! I thought yeah right, I will trust this company and some strange driver to treat my car in the manner I would. No way, forget it!Two weeks later I got a more professional letter from a company I have heard of and know where it is for my 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser of which was a lease and I no longer have. Only this time is was for more money and they would wash my car. I also thought how cheap of the first company and not wash the car before giving it back to the owner! Obviously something is going on or data is needed on 2003 vehicles and their emissions. All the letters have been destroyed so sorry, I cannot post them.

Your car would probably end up in Russia. You'd log onto genvibe one day and see it on the Russian thread!

why wouldn't they get them from their own dealers? Something doesn't sound right to me.

I gotta try that! I could use a new car for the winter. Hmmm? Send out a bunch of letters to peeps with new Hummers and Escalades (sp?). Or even a subie.Thanks for the idea!

Sounds like a scam to me!!In places that require emissions tests the process dont take a week. it maybe take a couple hours depending on how busy the "official State inspection" location is.
