Pontiac Service Offer - free oil change

Recently got a mailing "Loyalty has its rewards" which came directly from Pontiac and included a complimentary oil change and vehicle inspection offer. However, the offer has my selling dealer's name on it - i.e. "Now through March 15, 2007, accept our special thank you during owner appreciation days at: John Doe Ponitac, City, State zip."It is too far to drive there for a free oil change. The "Service Certificate" states on the back "DEALER INSTRUCTIONS: GM will reimbirse your dealership a set amount through the warranty system (use labor operation code Z2132) for the cost of the oil change, lube, filter, hazardoous waste disposal and applicable taxes."Wonder if this is redeemable at the dealer near me where I go for service work. I would send their service dept an e-mail and ask but they never seem to respond. The purpose of this promotional program is to get potential customers into a delaer to see the new models. The main reason I bought my 2003 Vibe at a dealer 50 miles away was they had what I wanted - a vehicle without a moon roof. I must be one of the few not wanting a moon roof as this Vibe was built in late October and still unsold in late January.

I just got one of these today too. As your situation, I'm 50+ miles from the dealer listed (couldn't find any Vibes around here back in early 2002 ) - plus I do my own oil changes.I asked my local dealer about these types of coupons and I never got a favorable answer about using them here. From what I could gather, they would accept them one time but maybe not another. It appears to be on a per-dealer basis.
