Wow how times have changed! 1. Turn signals will give away your next move. A confident driver avoidsusing them.2. Under no circumstances should you maintain a safe distance between youand the car in front of you, because the space would be filled in bysomebody else, putting you in an even more dangerous situation.3. The faster you drive through a red light, the less chances you have ofgetting hit.4. Warning! Never come to a complete stop at a stop sign. No one expectsit and it will result in your being rear-ended.5. Never get in the way of an older car that needs extensive bodywork. The other operator has nothing to lose.6. Never pass on the left when you can pass on the right.7. Speed limits are arbitrary figures; given only as a suggestion, and arenot enforceable.8. Just because you're in the left lane and have no room to speed up ormove over, doesn't mean that a driver flashing his high beams behind youdoesn't think he can go faster in your spot.9. Always brake and stare when you see an accident or even someonechanging a tire. This is seen as a sign of respect for the victim.10. Learn to swerve abruptly without signaling. Québec is the home ofhigh-speed slalom-driving; thanks to the Department of Public Works, whichputs pot-holes in key locations to test drivers' reflexes and keep themalert.11. It is tradition to honk your horn at cars in front of you that do notmove three milliseconds after the light turns green.12. To avoid injury in the event of a collision or roll-over, it isimportant to exit your vehicle thru the windshield right away. Wearingyour seat belt will only impede your hi-velocity escape from danger.13. Remember that the goal is to get ahead of the pack of drivers.Thank you, from the Québec Registrar of Motor Vehicles

14. Giving someone the middle finger is a form of praise to acknowledge that the other person has achieved the skills necessary to drive in Quebec.

17. Remember if you drive into a parking lot, ignore every rule you can think of. No lanes, you can go wherever you feel like in any direction.
