I've read about it, read about it and read some more. Is it worth it to do for a stock car? Especially one that is AWD? Just curious as I have no mods yet, maybe an intake if I dare again, but a warm air not cold. But what would be an advantage if the car was stock?

You will not see much gains with a stock car. It wouldn't be worth it. You should wait until you have your breathing mods done (intake, header &/or exhaust) before getting the Unichip. then you can get it preprogrammed for your mods. I would get at least a SR and Catback before getting one. You will be much happier with the results.

That's what I figured. I am the slow one of the group with the AWD model but thats ok cause I can still drive through the snow. I'm sure my gf would love if I came home with a new exhaust and intake while she is sitting there waiting for a ring, lol. So that is not in the plans for awhile.But I would go with a short intake and a TRD muffler with custom piping to go over the rear differential and such. Should make a nice combo.

I had a stock GT. Made a big diference. My freind could tell the car was stronger when he drove it a month apart without me telling him I did anything to it. Commented on how the car was stronger without me asking. Easily worth it to me. The percentage of performance gain on a stock vehicle is actually greater tha n a IE modded car. Check out Unichips site and compare the curves. If I were you, I'd concentrate on the exhaust for breathing. It's what's choking the AWD. The intake will get you a few HP on top but actually hurt power below 3k. A unichip with exhaust may be the best of all worlds. The chipped stock intake motor will be within a couple HP of a chipped one with an intake and have the best driveability and most power below the torque peak. Especially good for your auto.

the stock gt and unichip is different from the base vibe and especially the awd. even w/ Mav's mods on his base vibe: CAI and Exhaust, the unichip adds more oomph, but nothing like it did on my GT.

It's still the best bang for the buck.My best mod to date,even better than my sexy exhaust and long polished tube.

The unichip is best to be used in conjuction with CAI and exhaust. On its own... not really worth it IMO.

Unless you've tried it on a bone stock powertrain, It's speculation. I have and it's great.

I think it helps increases performance on whatever you install it on.I have a base with cat-back and intake and it made a world of difference.

As it should. It does just as much for a stock vehicle though it won't have the peak power of a IE setup.

I know it wont give me the full advantages of having an I/E or I/C/E setup. When I had my Civic I had I/E (AEM cai, Apexi World Sport II). I through in the E-manage and it made a decent amount of change, but nothing like it did for my friend's 03 turbo system. I was just hoping it could give a little bit more since I have AWD. I am fine with it as is now, but would like just a bit extra.

If you don't mind using Premium with map B, you'r there. If not, I wouldn't bother.
