What's up to all, introducing myself as a new member and also to give some tips on how I worked this car back to showroom status. At least the paint that is for now. I was given a Meguiar's G100 DA Polisher for Christmas (i.e. Porter Cable 7424) and purchased a few things to start fresh. I have always done detailing by hand but this car (being black) needed extra help. I picked up the following:6 Meguiar's Large Microfiber Towels3 Meguiar's 8006 Polishing pads1 Meguiar's 9006 Finishing padBottle of Meguiar's #83Bottle of Meguiar's #80 Speed GlazeBottle of Meguiar's Gold Class Wax (still had leftover)2 Foam Hand Applicator pads (for the small spots)1 Clay Bar System1 Roll Blue Painter's TapeI set to work with the #83 speed 5 which broke down nicely, hard to get off, but really took out some deep swirls and scratching. I moved on to the #80 on speed 5 to smooth out the paint and rid myself of the finer swirls and slight haze left by the #83. Then followed up with the Gold Class wax on the 9006 pad speed 3 to give a nice coating. Man! what a difference. The pics below prove it!2005 Toyota Matrix XR AWDBlack Pearl MetallicThe car after being washed, looks clean right? Not according to the clay bar! Some of what I was dealing with, picture your whole car covered in itHere is the products used and the car taped offNow the #83 w/ before and after picsBeforeBefore/AfterBeforeAfterAfterFinal Pics after #80 and Gold Class Covering

I hear ya NUBlackshirts, Since the weekend I did this, the weather has crashed! From snow to slush and temps that will not crawl over 32 degrees. I am thankful the car warms up fast but my interior is a mess, the engine bay still needs the detail and this spring the wheels come off for a deep clean inside. I'm also swapping out the front rotors for Powerslot and painting the calipers and drums black. It's like a neverending quest.I wish i could get one 40 degree day to go do the car quick. You can tell from the weather in these pics that it rained later on that day

Sure thing the rate is anywhere from $100 to $500+I set myself apart from those $30 wax while U wait places. They do crap work and really do nothing to help your paint but make it smooth. I on the other hand do a very meticulous job on all aspects of the car; exterior, paint, interior, engine bay, wheel wells, etc. So I customize packages for people based on the shape of their vehicle and what they are looking to accomplish. This Spring I will be doing my friends '67 Camaro SS (dark candy apple red) and he is putting me on his sponsor board so I can get noticed by the other classic owners. Should be good business on the side.
