Question about SR intakes (BOMZ) Matrix vs Vibe.

Contemplating putting one of the cheap BOMZ short ram intakes off of eBay on my 03 base. I have a question, however. The only Vibe intakes they had listed were for the GT. Despite the fact that the description says for both manual and automatic (which, to the best of my knowledge doesn't exist), it says only for the GT.However, when I search through the seller's store for a Matrix intake, they list the same intake for both the XR and the XRS.It was my understanding that the XR is the same as the base Vibe, and the XRS is the same as the GT. (If that understanding is wrong, please correct me).I've seen conflicting responses (using search) on using the GT intake on a base Vibe, and naturally have concerns about using a XRS intake on a base Vibe.Anybody who's bought the BOMZ intakes (from eBay or elsewhere) successfully put one on a base Vibe? If so, which one did you get?

First off, I wouldn't buy such a cheap thing on eBay. I did that once with an older car and the intake was really thin, cheap, and the welds were (removed)-poor. If you want a good intake on the cheap get the Cosmo. As far as I know, the GT will not work on the Base because of the throttle size and position, and there may be an extra vacuum line or something. The XRS and GT are the same but the Matrix XRS did have some rare automatics whereas there is only a Manual GT.

I have a cheap Ebay intake on my car with a K&N filter on the end of it. It works great check the Sig. for the type. Its a DC intake ripoff. Go to DC web sight, and there instructions is what I used to install my intake the exact same intake.

Ok, checked out the DC Sports website and there's nothing listed for the Vibe but pulled up instructions for the Matrix XR.However, there are seperate intakes for the XR and the XRS through AEM. Which BOMZ did you use? The one for the Vibe GT, the Matrix XR/XRS, or something else?

It was for the base vibe 1zz engin. I think it was for the Matrix XR.

I just bought one of these too, and I have to agree that the instructions are not great.....the concept is simple enough, but it would be nice to know exactly where those brackets hook up. I can't seem to find DC's website to grab their instructions, could one of you guys that found them maybe post a link? Thanks! By the way, I just got my Vibe in Dec. and this forum is great! Coming from the music world (music gear forums are notoriously catty and negative) it's nice to see a forum that stays positive and constructive, many thanks to all!
