So i have a Pioneer head unit in my vibe and i recently purchased the CD-ib100ii ipod adaptor for pioneer heads. as i was installing it, i went ahead and splice into the yellow power wire from the head unit, for power to the adaptor. and then my fuse blew. I'm kinda new to this stuff, but where can i find power to power the adaptor??? Thanks!

If a fuse blew, you didn't disconnect the battery! That's the number 1 rule with ANY installation. You're lucky you didn't do anything worse! If you're not sure what you're doing, you're safer getting help from someone who does, or leaving it to a pro.As for the ipod adapter, no reason to hit the yellow wire. That's battery power. You don't need power to the adapter when the car is off if the radio doesn't work anyway. Just use the +12 ignition source.

Actually most Pioneer secondary adapters DO need constant battery power in order to store settings and options. There's no reason that fuse should blow if its connected properly. Make sure to check all your connections, and that you don't have ground and power reversed.
