Clunking or popping sound near front end?

Awhile back I posted a question about the sound I was hearing in the front end. Then I was hearing it sometimes but now I hear it all of the time every time I shift out of park and into drive there is a double popping or clunking sound. The technicaian said it was a vaccum seal for the brakes that I was hearing, but I don't think this right just because of the fact that it did not do it when it was new and now it does it all of the time. My main concern is to get this resolved before my warranty is up I am at 28,500 right now. Some one please help.

Even if it is the vaccum seal it's not normal. It is obviously getting worse. Sometimes you have to get nasty with those guys to get things fixed. Not sure why because they should get paid for the work by GM.

By your description I would suspect a bad CV (constant velocity) joint. Be sure to get it down in writing with the dealer now so that whatever the problem is it will be documented prior to your warranty running out, and they will be on the hook to repair it.

Does it happen as soon as you start forward or does it happen when you stop for the first time after changing directions? My guess is brake pads shifting. It happens to mine every morning. Once they both settle into place after my first stop it doesnt happen again until I change directions again after the car sits for a while. If I'm wrong, someone let me know so that I can go get my car fixed as well.
