Pictures coming soon...dyno results will be posted as well..as soon as I figure out how to post them...bottom line...296 to the front wheels with nitrous...stupid fast...on or off the track will take porsche, mustang, STI...like I said stupid fast...and it only cost 7G's..Personally I think it was a bargain....Watch for pictures....

Yow, only $7,000? That's like 1/3 the price of the car when it was new!

wonder how it will do against my friend's dyno tested 290HP at all 4 wheels on his Legacy STi without nitrous Can't wait to see pics though but I'm hard to be convinced your awesome power at two wheels gives you a great launch... I can't get a good launch out of my 150 at the crank Vibe...

Quote, originally posted by ragingfish »296 at the wheels?I wasn't under the impression the 2ZZ could handle anything near that...well it's been done before. rio_trix is running about 292 at the wheels on his 2zz matrix. only time will tell on how well it can handle it. the tranny and car is not made for that kinda power, but doesn't mean with enough money and TLC, you can't do it. i've never been a huge fan of the bottle so i doubt i'd ever go that route on any vehicle i owned. that's just me though and i know some other folks up here with some stg 4 wrx's or even the evo's that run nitro. of course they have blown their motor doing incredibly stupid things, but that's their perogative. to each his own, right? but, i'm sick of seeing these cars that do dynos but never get to the track. dynos are great for bragging power but let's see what the car can really do on the track! i want to see some insane #'s for these monster 2zz's that are out there! come on folks!!!! show me the TIMESLIP!

sure, it may be fast, but can it beat a stealth fighter? really i doubt it, so noone cares. i'm no expert, but i'm guessing winter in CT isn't exactly track season, am i right?personally i don't care if so and so, -ie my cousin's uncle's brother has a 800hp NA DOHC NFL MVP, to that DO double G.congrats man, tell us more!

They had to do some other engine mods to keep the engine in one piece..also new racing clutch...the stock one could never handle the torque...its the middle of winter here so I wont be going to the track anytime soon to see the 1/4 mile times...and since you can no longer post anything to due with racing except for legal races Im not in a rush...

no prob. i understand. just make sure you get out to the track. i've seen a few of these turbo'd 2zz's and haven't seen any real track times, just vid clips of accelerating on the hwy. and yes, don't do anything stupid and go street racing. leave it for the track where it's safe(r) and legal! no chance of you getting nailed for street racing and less likely to get hurt.

well, it's about time a vibe GT has done this! so far i've noticed, it's mainly almost all trix's! we needed a VGT in that mix!

Ive been playin with this thing for a few months now...havent been around here postin anything since they the gods of genvibe change the racing forum...Ive got my winter rubber...blizzak's on the car with the winter original wheels so the car pretty much handles like crap...but still GLH in straight line...I will try to get some video of it on the way home one night...Its sounds awesome with the dual exhuast and the turbo whistling...I added a bunch of new lights up front and it looks like a plane coming in for a landing....

if i'd kept my vgt, that's exactly what i would have wanted to do to mine: dual exhaust, turbo... just not the nitro. as i've said before, not a big fan of it.

Thats ok...I may not keep it now that I have the turbo...but then again its nice to have alittle something extra in reserve just in case I get in some trouble...Ive got that little extra boost...for 2 minutes...I'm pulling the vette out of storage next month...Ive had it at the florida house for the last 7 years but my father has bought a new toy that shows up in march so I need to bring it home...thats 400 screaming horses normally aspirated 32 valve v8 with six on the floor...fasted production car in the world in 1990...my vibe...wouldnt hold a candle to it...it will just have to sit outside...i only have a 2 car garage...and my GF gets the right side...so the vibe will sit outside in the cold for abit....

Couple of Q's for those who run boost...Does anyone use a block girdle to strengthen the bottom end up, or are the main caps suitable to retain the crank? Forged crank? Rods? Pistons? Did anyone decide to have their compression ratio lowered so as to handle more boost? Special bearings being used? Head gaskets - any preferred type? Anyone using Water or Alcohol-injection?I'm looking into the feasibility of turbocharging my car in a few years once it's paid off.
