Another question... Not too crazy about the beep beep sound of the horn and thought maybe I will change it out to something a bit more ...I guess aggressive is the word. Do you know if this can simply be done by taking the present one off and installing a new one..or are there other complications ?Any info is greatly appreciated

hella horns has some good horns... I've never installed one and suspect there might be some modification to the wire harness but pretty straight forward. check the do it yourself section here as I bet someone has posted a "how to" for this there.Welcome to the site.

Yeah, the stock horn is not even good enough to be called pathetic.I put a pair of horns from a big 70's GM land yacht I found at the wreckers.No real grief involved, you'll probably need to splice into the wire, or make a small male to female extension to connect from the existing wire to the new horn.You may also have to make a small bracket if you want to mount it to the existing horn location behind the grill.

I just installed the Hella's this summer. GRat horns, but still kinda "beep-beepish" IMHO. But loud!

I picked up some GM pick-up truck horns and they were plenty loud.

thanks for yoru info guys..I was planning on simply going to the wreckers and getting one off a grand Am or something. Nothing specail jsut something with a bit more of voulme.

I've had my new 2006 Vibe 2.5 weeks now, and the only thing I don't like about my car is the pip-squeak horn. It works, its plenty loud, but by golly, if I use it, people will have to hold their sides laughing.Looks to be very, very easy to replace. I don't want to cut and splice while under warranty, but I can probably pick up a low note horn at Canadian Tire, hopefully that uses the same electrical connect. If not, I can make an adapter cable, solder, use shrink tubing etc. to make it look "professional" and hopefully not create any warranty problems.I'll bet GM could boost sales of the Vibe by 10% by installing a real horn for an extra cost of $2 per car!
