I have 04 AWD, now, as long as it is warm outside, the instrument panel and the center console (by the radio) has a rattling noise when driving. Also there is a strange rattling nosie from the passenger's side, like from the seat belt pivot, the dealer can not figure it out. When the car is stopped at redlight in D, the rear hatch (maybe the glass) rattles like they want to fall off the car, but the problem is not that bad when AC is on. Dealer don't know what is that either.Pretty puzzled.

seat belt could be the buckel hitting the c pillar. the back window could be the rubber around the glass getting cold and hard?? the dash could be anything. most things ( except water) shrink a bit when it gets cold which could make them rattel a bit. Does it still rattle after the car warms up?

the rattle from the dash is worse during hot weather than cold weather though. and the whole car rattle is worse when the car warm up or when the idling speed drops to 750-800 rpm. have to kep the AC on to rev up the idle to avoid the vibration.

I have a rattle that comes from the drivers side dash. It stops rattling/vibrating when i grab onto it, like clamping it together, but it erks me a lot to have to listen to it. Never really realized the difference between hot/cold temperatures but always wondered what causes and what the solution is to this type of situation.
