A wild police chase in Cincinnati

Monday night was a wild one for one young man in Cincinnati who apparently got so upset at something a family member said to him that he went out and robbed a convenience store, tried to carjack multiple people, and in the end, ran from police down I-75 and jumped off of the Brent Spence Bridge, the I-71/75 bridge over the Ohio River. The police chase video is just shocking...it's hard to believe he just scrambled out of the car and apparently made a split second decision to vault over the guardrail and off of the bridge to the river several hundred yards below. Here's the news story:

Wow... the first video is the one to watch... and still no sign of the guy. He's either dead and washing up on shore or survived and in some hospital the cops haven't checked... but I'd bet he is dead. The fall plus the cold water.

It's not his car, I'm pretty sure it's one he carjacked...but you can see a policeman take off running down the bridge toward the car as it's rolling and then you see the brake lights come on so apparently he was able to jump in before it hit the left side wall.

The guy knew that was what he wanted to do... He took the bridge exit, drove until he got to the bridge, slowed down and jumped. All planned I'd say.

He didn't really take an exit...he was in an exit only lane for 5th street and downtown Cinci when he was in the far left lane, then he moved over at the last minute to continue following I-75 south as it merged with I-71 south. According to a story I read elsewhere, the others he unsuccessfully tried to carjack said he just looked dazed, so that made me wonder if he even realized that he was jumping off of the bridge, or if he was even really aware of where he was. I think the police officers were just as shocked. I'm surprised the second cruiser didn't hit him. It's just hard to imagine what must have been that awful that he felt the need to jump in the river. But I guess we'll never know.

I only watched it once so may be I missed it. Sure hope they got the run away car no matter who's it was. But yeah that guy had other things on his mind. Sad that it came to it but he was out of the car and gone! I am sure the cops have never witnessed such a thing! Feel bad for his family too but at least he did not do anything in front of them such as kill one of them or take his life in front of them. My brother in law was the first to come up on his grandpa who called him and asked he come over all along while he was sitting in his garage, car running and garage door shut. He was tired of life, blind and a widow. Still not right for his grand kid to witness.
