You'll be impressed until you try to get a perp in the backseat. lol....We have the #1 Police Fleet man in the US at our dealership, GM Actually pays him to go to chief's meetings, and any type of law enforcement convention. The departments who have bought the Chargers aren't all that happy with the "real world" in service use so far.

But the cops can easily force said perp into the back, maybe grab him by the head or the neck and twist, push them in there. Kentucky has some of these for the "Vehicle Enforcement" guys who I recall used to just harass semis, but now they can pull over whoever they want. That's the most widespread use of them I've seen thus far.Man, Dodge finally has a cop car again. It's been a long time since the Diplomat and earlier models always seen in the movies and TV shows. (removed)!

I think its a V-6 but were a 1 stop light town. so thats O.K. Blink and you'll miss us. I think Chrysler gave a great deal on them to police forces and beat out Ford, cause our town was having a hard time finding money for the last ford product they purchased. I think they look cool.

Nice. Doesn't it make you feel guilty taking pictures of police cars for some reason? lol... It does me.The city I work in has a contract with Chrysler. All they drive are Chargers and Magnums, and I've even seen a few Intrepids and Durangos...The Durangos are really tricky, they have those reall ylow profile lights that look like ski racks and the vinyl police decals are only a couple shades darker grey than the truck so they are hard to see.

we have those now too... they are mostly V6's except 2 i have seen so far.The backseat is incredibly tight... no legroom at all with the rear cage installed.Ford made it really easy, they stopped making the crown vic and the 500 is just not a cop car. The charger is the only car of that stature, in that price range out there right now. Kinda like full size vans... the only thing left is an Econoline... no more Savanas and no more Dodges (spinters dont count)

I honestly don't think the difference in backseat size will be that noticeable..the crown vic cop cars don't have much room at all in them, trust me being 6 feet tall and shoved into one I had to sit with my legs stretched across into the floor space on the other side of the seat. I've seen a ton of the charger cop cars recently, highway patrol around here has a good size fleet of them and I think it's just a matter of time before the Novi/Northville area will get a few of them, considering their crown vics are getting up there in yearsedit: and the ones i've seen have dual exhaust, indicating a v8..yum

One of the local cop shops was installing the horns and dropped a screwdriver into the rad, piercing it. They brought it in for warranty... lol declined. Anyway when it was in I was all over it sitting in all the seats, checking it out.the back seat is A LOT smaller then the already small crown vic back seat. Although I am without the pleasure of forceful containment I have been in the back of the crown vic's (filling out police accident reports)- it's a limo back there compared to the charger.

ford actually didnt stop making the crown vic totally, they were still making the police interceptor ones. Chrysler actually sold the chargers SUPER cheap and thats why police stations are buying them up. yup those back seats are tiny compared to the vic

I just got passed by one of those on the interstate wearing the colors of an Iowa State Trooper on my way home for Thanksgiving. I was doing 75 mph, he was doing probably 120mph. Scared the crap out of me when he passed. Didn't even hear him coming up on me, no siren just lights.

i think the 3.5 HO V6 is dual exhaust too.i bet the 250hp is good enough for most cruisers... but I'm sure there are more then a few Hemi's kicking around.

Yeah out here in AZ the Sherrif's dept. started using these. They look pretty damned menicing. You have to be careful out here though. I've seen people get stopped by the following unmarked cars:Chevy Monte CarlosPontiac Grand Prixand this one really surprised me,v6 Chrysler 300.
