i was wondering of anyone knew the easiest way to remove the folding seatback from the front passenger seat. i want to be able to remove it to creat a flat sleeping area to use for camping. when you fold the front seat it is several inches higher than the folded back seat. i don't want to try to remove the seat bottom due to air-bag electronics.

I thought it went even with the back seats... do you have the front seat folded down correctly?

i thought it went flat too. Maybe it is up a little... but im too short to worry about needing more length then the rear cargo area and the seats folded down.i dont think it would be "easy" to take off just the seat back though. easier to remove the entire seat... that left side hinge will be hard to remove if needed. Then you are down like 16 inches though.

It isn't even, well in that case... scrunch up, if your tall, and rest your pillow on it.

The hard plastic seat back has two standard plastic clips on the bottom...be careful not to break them when you pull up. the top is hinged simular to the trim that is around the stereo, pull down slightly and then tilt up and out. Hope that helps.

I broke one of the clips you speak of. Unknowingly I ended up spending $70 for the seat back and one new clip (the new back does not come w/clips) Long story short, do not break the clips is right. Pontiac gets $23 each and they (the new ones) are a pain in the rear to pop in place.
