does anyone know of any options as far as a larger throttle body for a 2004 base vibe? is there any difference in the gt and base throttle bodies? or barring that no one makes a larger throttle body does anyone make a throttle body spacer? any help would be appreciated

Your only option is to ship it off to http://www.maxbore.com to have them bore out your existing TB. Of course, you wont be able to drive your car for 1-2 weeks though.

Id say go either boring or TB spacer. If you use the TB spacer with a bored TB it wont be the same size and it will not be the most effiecient air flow.Good idea for boring is to get a 2nd used TB to ship off to get ported so 1. you have a stock one to go back to and 2. you wont be with out your car.

Will they bore out a Grand Am TB? Want to get that done sometime soon, maybe over the winter since it will be in the garage all covered up.

I sent mine in last year. I was happy with the service and the turn around time. (removed) dyno registered a slight increase in peppiness. I think Im hearing the butterfly flutter (rattle) now between 13-17% throttle, however it could have been my supercharger idler pulley that just failed. The new pulley is at my house waiting for me to get off work. I'll know more tonight after I install it.
