PCV Valve when to replace

Well this question has probaly been asked before but what is the average live expectancy of the PCV on the vibe ?and if and when you replaced it how much did it cost?mine's never been replaced i think (bought my vibe used and trying todo some catch-up on service)

I think it's between 40k and 50k miles. Had my tranny flushed and the guy asked if I wanted the PCV valve replaced or just cleaned. It was only a sceen mesh so I had him clean it.Replacing it was like $70.

Replaced mine todayno screen mesh though9$ for a new valve and some elbow greaseseems to make a diffrence thoughdunno seems to run/ idle a bit smoother

Lancer, you spent $70 to replace your PVC valve?!??!? That seems a bit expensive. Hakune, Where is the valve located in the Vibe?

Not hard to find remove the engine cover and it's in the upper right corneryou'll need a deep socket wrench if you got one not much room around to get a nice "turn" though it can be done without and don't overtighten it

Yeah. I thought that's the pcv valve hakune was talking about. And NO I didn't pay for that.

I was talking about the (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve i also took a bit of the hose ends to make a tighter fit.better seal better vacuum
