how bout the pistons, were they ok. most people say if your opening it up to do rods do the pistons also if forgot your numbers (hp) but how well do you see the stock setup holding 200 whp 200tq from forced induction and or nos.also you guys got any relative safe a/f ratio and egt numbers for forced induction on a 1zz.

if you do pistons....do rods.... as far as a/f I go about 12.5:1 for the street... it is a bit rich...-but is safe.. If you have pistons and rods you can see 250 FWHP NO PROBLEM for everyday driving.... stock internals I would say 200hp should be fine... just make sure there is enough fuel.quote:how bout the pistons, were they ok. most people say if your opening it up to do rods do the pistons also if forgot your numbers (hp) but how well do you see the stock setup holding 200 whp 200tq from forced induction and or nos.also you guys got any relative safe a/f ratio and egt numbers for forced induction on a 1zz.

heres another one for you andrew. i heard that aside from resleeving the cylinders.you can also purchase a "block guard"(oooo)kinda looks like it goes around the tops of the cylinders to keep them from flexing or something. i havent seen one for the 1zz just hondas.but if one comes up or another fits would this be a good investmest or just overkill.ive heard there is very little material holdind the cylinder bores to the blocks on our engines is this an area for concern.or am i just paranoid. id rather spend 2,000 dollars to keep my block intact than to buy a new block then all this stuff.by the way did you get a pic of those stock rods yet.

There is that type of block gaurd for the Hondas....I have never seen such a thing for the 1 or 2zz engine... If you are looking for 300+ at the wheels I would sleeve the block. It is more money but safer in the long run. quote:heres another one for you andrew. i heard that aside from resleeving the cylinders.you can also purchase a "block guard"(oooo)kinda looks like it goes around the tops of the cylinders to keep them from flexing or something.
