Scratch in front bumper

I park in the street outside my house and someone must have pulled in too close to the front of my car (driver's side facing street) and gave me a good scratch in the front bumper right below the headlight.I will probably not bother with insurance because of premiums, but was curious to see what everyone thinks this will cost to fix. I moved to a new town so I want to have some idea of the price before I get estimates at body shops. I'm wondering if this can just be sanded and then repainted? I would hope I don't need anything more than that! Any comments are appreciated - I attached a picture of the scratch.

get some rubbing compound and see how much of that you can make go away. You may only be left with a scuff. Then take it to a bodyshop and get the estimate

I fixed a scuff like that on another car. It cost about $350.00

a couple of weeks ago when i was in a little collision, my rear bumper was similarly damaged. instead of doing anything to repair/repaint the old one, the body shop i took it too simply replaced it. i've got a monotone, so bumper replacement + laminent + clear and labor was around $900. most of that was the part for the bumper itself (around $440 i want to say, i don't have the receipt handy). other than the price of the part being different, i'd say yours would probably be less than that due to the two tone.

So I took my car to two different body shops (I've never done business with either) - one shop wanted me to get everything replaced (bumper, headlight cover, etc.) and was going to charge $1,100 (through insurance, which I don't want to do because I don't want a surcharge).I went to another shop who said for $350 he could take out the scuff on the original bumper and match the paint, etc.Thoughts on which option I should choose? Has anyone repaired the Vibe's bumpers? Do they look good, or just patched up? I know they're plastic so it's a bit of a decision I have here - I love my little neptune vibe and want it to be back to normal! Thanks!

How much of the scuff were you able to get out with rubbing compound?

Most of the white paint has come off, but there are still two deep scratches that went right through the paint to the bumper. I'm curious how well these can be "repaired" or if I should just replace the front upper bumper? It's a 2003 neptune two-tone vibe BTW.

I've got some pretty deep pit marks on my Salsa vibe from the previous owner that they touch-up painted over with the recommended stuff.I don't think it looked very good.....I'd consider talking to a paint shop and maybe have them quoting you a price to re-paint the entire bumper...could be cheaper than replacing.
