Hi,I was just curious how people go about this - If you drive up during the snow when chains are required - what do you do. My owner's information says chains can not be used with the vibe - does that mean that cables are acceptable?Interested in hearing how people do this.

Seriously, chains are not recommended for cars with Alloy rims. They run the risk of damaging the rims. Also with the Vibe, there might be a wheel well clearance issue. Cables take up less space, so they might be ok.

I think cables would be OK. By the way, I am jealous, I have family that has a winter home in Tahoe. It is beautiful there. Make a snow angel for me ok?

Most likely suspension lift and bigger tires, so I would not go and attempt this. These are pics of a trip I made last year to Tahoe in a pretty nasty storm. Hwy 80 was covered in a good 3 or 4 inches of slush. Traffic had stopped on 80 and so my buddy and I got out to throw the football around.
