Mine's a little more than a week old and, aside from a cold pop tart (mmmm cold pop tart) I have refrained from eating in the car.

And what's up with the fact that the lower of the two cup holders is slightly smaller than the higher one?

I don't eat in the car. It would be kind of hard to do anyways because I have a GT. My hands are a little busy between steering and shifting.

The great thing about eating in the car is that you feel so good after you vacuum up all the stiff french fries once a year.

Have you seen the VW ad where the guy is driving his Jetta (I think its a Jetta) and his friend is feeding him the fries while he's driving? Well I do that for my boyfriend when he's driving sometimes.

I used to eat in my old car and leave all the empty fast food bags pile up on the passenger floor for months. But to eat in my vibe? No way! Only thing I will eat or drink in my vibe is a bottle of water - can't do too much damage with that.

I eat fast food in the Vibe, but remove the bags within a week. In the Cavalier it would be lucky if they came out within a month.

pop tarts heatup nicely with the defrost on full, you can put them in the windshield defroster vent just like a toaster( on very cold mornings please allow for extra cooking time, some models cooking wattage may very, caution filling will be hot

I do eat in Da Vibe, but I take all the trash out every day---when I drove the Happy Meal, I only cleaned out the trash when someone needed to use the floorboard for their feet.....

I splurged and bought a Coke yesterday, and the can fits perfectly in the lower of the two. Very secure - even with my cornering

Must be a wacky metric Canadian Coke. In the States, soda bottles fit in the upper holder but not the lower (unless you really wedge them in!).

Actually somebody has done it and it worked. Do a search for outlet usage. We had a ball with all the stuff we wanted to plug into that outlet. (warning mature content is present in the thread, LOL)

The only thing I actually can eat in my car is a soft ice cream in summer. Nothing else. And as you said Cubanpete, I never allow smoking in my car. Nobody have smoked in any of my cars. The Québec's Tobacco Act is applied in my car!!!

Since i have a nice little AC adapter in the ride, i use it for my George Forman grill, I eat all sorts of food while i am driving. On long trips you can see a little smoke from the roof of the car, ribs on the Forman, Yum... I havent gotten my Pizza Maker to work yet, but i am working on it. This is fictitious, i have only eaten one thing in my car, well two things. Once i had to eat subway because i was on a long trip.

I was taking the extended test drive in my Vibe GT, with both kids (3yo & 5mo). I figured that I should truly test out this car by going to the drive thru in McD's and get junior a bag of fries. There were two good reasons for this move 1) to see how easy it was to load food in at a drive thru 2) to see if the detailer had a sense of humor. Now that I have had the car a month I have mastered the art of drinking hot Dunkin Donuts coffee and shifting. In snowy conditions I recommend going 1 to 2, hang in 2 to 5,000 then jump to 4 to 4,000 and jump to 6, enjoy coffee. Avoid plow trucks.
