I vaguely remember this being an option when i got my vibe 2.5 years ago (wow..has it been that long?).Yet i don't think i've ever read about anybody on this site talking about it.How many of you got OnStar? just curious.

OnStar didn't become Available on the Vibe until late in the '05 run.

Anyone else have On*Star in their Vibe? I got it but I'm WAY dissappointed, because many of the features I got the system for, aren't available on the Vibe, and I wasn't told that until AFTER the purchase. I got one year of "Safe & Sound" with the purchase of an On*Star equipped Vibe, but 3 of the main features are excluded; Remote Door Unlock, Remote Vehicle Diagnostics, and Stolen Vehicle Location Assistance.I'm not sure that Hands-Free Calling, Air-Bag notification, and Roadside services are really worth $199/yr, especially when you have to pay extra for airtime....I really think they should bump us to the full package for free, at least then you get a little more for your money.

MY Tripple A is a whole lot cheaper than that and it covers both of us no matter what we are driving.

this is the downside of owning jap/us hybrids... not everything works and communicates the same. However when your through the mountains and your cell phone is not working your onstar still will. Can't call AAA without your cell.It will only take one time before that is all worth it.IMO of course... I drive in a lot of areas with out cell coverage.

I pay multiple years at a time, though, so the monthly cost comes down...

ragingfish you got a good point about the calling if your air bags go, id like that too. its a good safefy feature for sure, i just cant afford all that stuff. AAA is more for roadside assistance not super safety stuff, but where i drive i get cell phone coverage. ive never had onstar so i dont feel a need for it yet.

I think my main beef is the fact that it's NOT disclosed anywhere until you get your actual On*Star contract.....it's not noted in ANY of the brocures, ect.
