i did a google search for "gm performance parts" and came across this. it claims to be the gm supercharger, is this everything i need to supercharge my vibe? it's an 04 base, auto trans. should i upgrade anything else? headers, valves, electrical, ecu? it's almost all stock, only sound is upgraded.here is the linkhttp://www.gmpartsdirect.com/r...98927

Why does the add say that it is not for base Vibe with 5-speed? Is the 5-speed too weak to handle the extra torque?

because that's the supercharger for an automatic vibe. The one for a 5 speed Vibe should state "not for base Vibe with automatic transmission," etc (but it doesn't...). Also, why is the price higher than GM's list? For that price I think I'd seriously consider spending the extra $700 and getting a Hass turbo...

Duh! It never occurred to me that there would be a different sc for the manual tranny. I feel stupid.

you will not need anything extra to make it work... you might want to make it work "better" but that kit is the whole package to get you started.I was quoted about $3000 CAN for just the SC no install kit or ECU. I found that to be a very average price. So this to me seems also like an average price. There are better deals to be had, check on the Toyota side of the street... the stickers from GM Performance seem to be pretty expensive.I will be buying just the supercharger, minus the install kit (ECU) as I have the Unichip coming from our groupbuy and went with the SC version.CAN-AWD-VIBE

i saw some people on other treads talking about the Unichip, what exactly does it do? i checked their site, but what exactly does it do? what's the difference between the Unichip and another performance ECU?

Check the sticky in the Performance section for a description of the different aftermarket ECUs. I like the e-manage but that's really just my preference, no real reason to back it up.

from what i've gathered, the unichip is a relatively expensive mod where you can notice a positive improvement but it won't really show up on your time slip.

Did you make sure that your also getting the 'turbo mod' (that's what they call it even for the s/c) with your Unichip? It's a little chip that you plug a boost line into and the 5th injector wires into. Extra $260 When I sent mine in to get it redone for the s/c, the stupid ckick they got never mentioned anything about needing another part and I ended up having my car not running for a week waiting for it.

the GM kit is over priced, look for the TRD matrix auto SC kit it is under 3 grand.

This is the part number that I bought from Never Enough.UC1020021 - Matrix XR w/Supercharger $555 + s/hthat comes with the harness I have been told.and this is the application link to Unichip http://www.unichip.us/Dealer/D...6.pdfI got 20010306 for now and will reprogram when I get the supercharger.I know you've been down this road before Lancer so any help is welcome.
