Help w/ 55mm Offset???

Ok, here's the skinny...lol.I had some 19x8 (35mm) on my '96 Audi A4. I know the bolt patterns are different and I'm thinking about having some adapters made. I called adaptitusa.com and they can make me some 20mm adapters to convert the wheels from a 5x112 to fit on a 5x100 bolt pattern. Problem is, is that the final offset will be 55mm (wheel + adapter). So the next question is will it be too big? Does anyone know what the max offset our cars will take? Also, has anyone ever tried rolling their fenders? I know someone using adapters and have had good luck w/ the 20mm adapters so I'm not questioning if it can be done just if it'll fit even with some fender rolling if need be.Thanx if advance

I'm not sure if this is going to work. The stock offset is +35. Stock tires are sitting on 6"? rims. So your pushing the tires center line out almost an inch, Plus adding an inch to either side of the tire. I haven't turned my Vibes wheel's lock to lock to check clearances, but I bet these 19's are going to rub a lot. This will also change the geometry of the suspension. This could become a problem with your springs by putting so much stress on the suspension Not to mention the drive train, but that’s a different discussion about large rims on a little engine.
