Look at this guy from one of my Vette sites!

"I have had my new Z06 for exactly 3 weeks today. I drive it to work nearly every day, and did on a nice nearly-spring morning today. I park close to the office, and when I looked out about 11:00, there was a landscaper weed-eating just in front of my car--actually one foot away from the front bumper. I went out to see the front of the car (partly) covered with vegetation, and lost it! He said "we'll use the leafblower to clean it off", and I said "No, what you're going to do is lose your job!"Anyway, I called the landscape company and their owner came out making excuses, like "look, there's a spot of dirt behind your rear tire, and that's worse for the paint than the vegetation". Before I could stop them, they were wiping the trash off the car. It is less than 60 days from the factory, which means the paint is not fully hardened, and is more easily scratched. What do you think? Did I over-react? Were they being incredibly stupid, or incredibly rude, or maybe it was OK? Any opinions?"

My response back!"Yes I think a little over react. No doubt I would be annoyed too however the guy was just doing his job and your car was in the way, he did not damage your car either. So some grass got all over it... What was his option? He could not come in and get you to move the car just so he could do his job... And to threaten him about losing his job! Come on! Again he was doing his job and cannot control the flying grass. Sure crap happens and it sucks but he did offer the leaf blower which would not have touched your car either. He could have walked away and did or offered nothing to you. Next time he may even look for your car since he knows it will pis-s you off. I feel for the guy since you probably make 3 times what he does, he did not touch or damage your car and did not deserve the job threat. As the owner YOU need to park where it will be out of harms way, do not rely on others to watch your car because they will not and do not care about your stuff. Put a car cover in it next time if it really bothers you that way you will be protected from pollen and bird poo too. And your paint was dry hours after the car was sprayed, that is the beauty of paints today."Some people are total Hot Heads at times!

wow... my vibe is like my baby since i dont make a whole (removed) load of cash. but ive gotten egged, door dinged and the paints chipped from rocks and my foot scraping here and there. What a jerk... in the begining doesnt he say he usually parks in back. if he parks up close, he should park like a foot away from the curb.Gosh people are so oversensative when they have tons of money or just enough to try and fit in the high class area. I see stuff like this once and a while. man it erks me!!!

lol I bet you the weedwacker guy got a good laugh about it with his friends "what a freekin duche"That is wayyyy over-reacting....what...is everyone supposed to be a mind reader? ZOMG! THATS A BRANDNEW VETTE, I SHOULD LIKE NOT BREATH NEAR IT OR IT WILL MELT!!!1!11Now had the weedwaker actually thrown a rock and hit the car then I could say yea they guy could ask the company to pay for damages....but Grass??? (removed), bugs hitting it when he is driving 100mph will do more damage to that car than a blade of grass comming out of a lawnmower.Im willing to bet that guy would be the ******* that would park his Vette near the front at an angle so it takes up 2 parking spots so nobody could park near his Vette.

I don't think he over-reacted...they could have gone around the car or asked him to move it. I don't care how cheap/expensive the car is...weedeating near it can ruin the paint or send somethign flying into the windows. He should stop being lazy and mow his own lawn and it wouldn't happen.

I don't know any landscaping company that will find the employees that are parked outside and ask them to move their cars because they're working. If the guy didn't want his car to get messed up, he should've left it at home or put it under a cover if it was outside.

Geez, what a hot head! Funny you should bring the topic up... I went out to my car yesterday evening to go to work and they were out mowing the grass. Of course, I had GRASS all over my hood too! This was even more of a disgrace than grassing up the front of a Vette, I mean, this was a $14K Hyundai after all! God, does ANYBODY have any respect for the finer things in life? So, I went over to the lady who was mowing the grass and told her where to shove it! I told her that she was just jealous that she didn't and couldn't have something that nice, and there's no reason to tear up my crap! That was fresh paint too, been on the car since 01/04/06! After getting bailed out of jail, I drove off to work which blew the grass off the hood and no signs of permanent damage. But it COULD have happened... Some people! Of course the only things that actually happened above were the folks mowing the grass yesterday, it got on my car, I drove to work, and the stupid crap blew off on the way to work and that was that. Good grief, someone needs to stop using his Vette as a DAILY DRIVER if he is not capable of handling the incidents that WILL occur when you have a car that you drive frequently........

I had something similar on Monday. I was behind a truck from the rendering plant carrying chicken parts and it hit a bump and splashed goo all over the road and some got on my car. I calmly passed the truck when he got into a turn lane and noted his truck number. I got my car washed and then called the company and asked that they reenbursed me. They were nice about it and droped the cash off a day or so later. I wonder what this guy would have done if chicken goo were to get on his precious vette.

Some Vette owners are obsessive...Several years ago I moved in with my in-laws for about a year. During that time, I noticed their neighbor had a 66 (or 67, not sure) Stingray in his garage...he kept it covered with two car covers, a cloth cover and a plastic cover over the cloth. Once a month he would open the garage, remove the car covers, start the car, pull it out of the garage, wash it, dry it, start it back up, put it back in the garage, cover it with the cloth cover and then the plastic cover, then shut the garage. So, to answer that Vette owner's question at the start of this thread "Did I over-react?", I would have to say it's a matter of perspective. Can you imagine what my in-laws' neighbor would do if someone got grass clippings on his 66 Stingray

see that's just stupid. that's like the people who have a really nice living room with expensive couches and white carpet, but that room is not to be used, it's just a decoration. you are not allowed to ever enter that room, the only time someone is ever in that room is when they are cleaning it.

No I hear ya! And know the type! This is what I do... I drive my car and have fun with it. I do not drive it in the rain not because the rain will hurt it but because I have achieved a certain cleanliness under the car and under the hood and I want it to stay that way. I do wash my car though! Some guys do not wash them as if that will hurt it or make scratches on the paint. I have been detailing cars for years and normal washes are fine if you use the right stuff! Some guys only wash their Vette's in soft water and use micro fiber towels and crap! I say hog wash! Quit being so (removed) about the car...I drive the heck out of it because I cannot take it with me when I die! Plus in Mich you can only drive them so many months out of the year. And when I die, I do not want to say I owned one but that I owned and drove the wheels off of one! Sure my car is clean and I spent a lot of time to get it that way since I bought it used. Some guys do not like when I say Garage Queens suck, such as the guy you described but it is the truth! Trailer Queens suck too! Drive the damn car! GM made such a great car it would be a sin not to drive it! It was built to be driven! And why keep it for the next guy?

Lawn services usally cut on the same day every week. The Jerk Should have parked somewhere else or took a bus or cab to work.I have seen this same thing happen a few times, it's usally a big guy freaking out on a little guy.I know a local man, while cutting lawns he was attack by a man for getting grass clipping on his chrome wheels. After several blows other people chased off the car owner.Later he was charged & convicted, sued in civil court. The little lawn guy now carry's a 1911 Colt .45. It is legal and I seriously think he'd would use, it rather then take another beating.Tell your buddy to be careful.

Hi guys, I haven't posted here in a long time, but I stop by once in a while.Ya, I'd say this guy is super (removed). I'm that way to a point..... If I were him, I'd be pissed there's grass guts all over my car, but I wouldn't have said anything. I'd wash it off at the end of the day. Why throw a fit like that?, it's only going to get the $7/hr weedwacker guy in trouble, pissed off at you and possibly do further damage the next time to get you back.... (at least that's what I'd do if I was the weedwacker guy:))

I know that I could not own a car and just leave it covered up for 90% of its life....if I buy a car Im gonna drive it dang nabit! If I get a WRX STI Im gonna find a nice dirt road and open her up a little and enjoy the car for what it was designed for. It makes me laugh when I see people buy vehicles as a showpiece, like seeing a LandRover LandCruiser with the offroad tires, liftkit, rockguards, skid plates and winch and never take it off road.

I see tool guy cant post up his vibe on there!!! JK... that makes me sad that SOME people make so much and treat others like crap and think they dont care about ones property. And yes some dont, but the guys got money to have 2 vettes. then proceeds to drive the better one to work, well if your that paranoid... park it in the garage a leave it.I would be heated that my new car got dirty too, but i wouldnt flip out on a guy who makes a fraction of this guys and prolly works his (removed) off to feed his family. If there was damage call the gardening service and handle it in a civilized way.

This guy is a real tool! LOL!!! Here is a comment from him today... What a sissy and he justifies it as his car was new so he was entitled to act like an (removed)! LOL!!!! (removed)!!! "Hey, Norseman, that is a pretty know-it-all attitude for someone who wasn't there and apparently didn't even read my initial post. Let me clarify, both for you and for some other commenters:First, I was appropriately parked, in my reserved spot.Second, IT WAS NOT GRASS OR A LAWNMOWER--it was landscaping plants being cut with a weedeater (no set schedule, not predictable, and not just grass clippings).Third, I had only had the car three weeks. I don't ever buy a car as a garage decoration. It is a daily driver, but I don't think the paint was even fully cured at that time (yes, I am aware of the paint baking process).Fourth, I think some of the comments were made by people with older cars--well broken in--already got the first scratches, chips, even faded paint. That is a bit different from a brand-new car (and I generally bought used in the past).Fifth, I'm sorry about someone's Mom and Dad, and in fact, my Dad died early this spring, but this isn't a cancer and heart disease forum. Are you saying that as long as anyone in the world is sick, my priorities are messed up if I care about my Corvette???"

I care about my car, too and I think it would be an even more caring feeling if I just shelled out close to 50 grand for it, but hey! it's just a dang car! now if the weed-eater dude ripped up a small tree and proceeded to beat the crap out of the guys vette (and that might happen after all this) then I think he would be entitled to say all this crap and everyone would be on his side. This guy really amazes me

Ok... so I'll side with the guy on this one thing only because this "might" have happened to his vette.Behind my appt there is a stone wall/rock garden on top of it. It lacks flowers of any sort but weeds have been seen popping up through the rocks. The other day some brilliant minded maintenance kid decided to go into the rock garden with his weed wacker and cut down the weeds. The result? No weeds and me sitting there in my house while rocks and other small hard objects got shot at my house. I swear I was about to go out there and yell at him as those rocks were pounding my windows to the point I thought they were going to chip/crack or worse, shatter. If that had been my car he was hitting, I'd have tore him a new one.So while yes perhaps the Vette guy was over reacting... his car could have been damaged.
