Well folks, its official. The AirForce is sending me to Japan! Unfortunatly I wont be able to take my Vibe with me I still have a few more months before I go off to Eastern lands...I hope I can still visit the boards and whatnot while over there.....or else I will suffer from withdrawls.

Are you just going to store your vibe? If so, for how long? And does the base have a secured longtime storage area?

Ohhh I am keeping this wonderfull vehicle, not going to sell it! I plan on taking my car over to my folks and leaving it there for them to use while I am gone. My father takes good care of his vehicles so I am not worried about my lil dragon while I am away. I will be in Japan for 2 maybe 3 years. Ohh and dont worry I plan on taking plenty of pics of the area and any cool cars I see. I will also have to check out the Voltz while Im there!!

You'll love Japan. Do yourself a favor and get as far away from the base as often as you can. It's a beautiful country so see as much as you can. Go to Hiroshima and see the Atomic Bomb Museum. It will give you chills. Keep in touch and send us pictures. Have fun!

I have always wanted to go to Japan and I will be damned if I spend most of my time on base.

Where are you going to be stationed? I spent 6+ years at Misawa. Loved my time there. Still miss it once in awhile, especially the food!

Well it looks like we may have a JDM connection, wink wink. 2 or 3 years is plenty of time to send back all the parts for a RHD conversion, couldn't get any more unique than that. Thats the beauty of the Military, sometimes you get sent to beautiful exotic places and in my case they send you into the middle of nowhere Germany, lacking one mile from Isolation pay. Good luck on your tour of duty.

There are probably a lot of things I don't know or understand, but I can't help but wonder why the govt. is spending my/our tax dollars to send someone to Japan for 2-3 years.

well, basicly, try and harass you to send us real JDM parts/supplies via good ole US Postal (as long as it's small enough) because it's CHEAP! LOL. i know when someone from here goes over to Japan, we all give him a list of things we want. then try and send money via Pay Pal or what not to get them. they usually charge like $20 or so for their fee of the hassle, and so we get JDM parts and items for less than what the Jap co want to sell, cheap shipping via USPS, and they get some extra cash for being so kind! but ya, i wonder if there are any VOLTZ parts in Japan available? I know if I'd still had my VGT, i'd have wanted a ton!
