1zz Billet Throttle Rotor Installed!

There is a deal through Weapon R on newcelica.org to get the billet throttle rotors for 1zz and 2zz engines for $30 shipped. It is supposed to take up some of the slack in the throttle cable and since its bigger than stock, less turning to become WOT. I do notice a little difference, in response time this does NOT add HP.

Looks good, NV! I wonder if you are able to spin the tires a little on take off due to the fact that you are idleing higher to begin with? That is most likely the case. Like I always say, every little bit helps.

I placed my order for one! I'll try it out also. For $30 shipped it is worth a try. It'll look good next to the TB Spacer.

Careful about making it too tight. Heat and cold affect throttle cable tension. A little maladjustment will cause it to idle high and through a CEL.

This might sound stupid, but what's a 1zz and 2zz engine. I'm pretty new to the Vibe world.

1zzfe is the base engine found in the non-GT Vibes or the Matrix XR, the 2zzge is the engine code for the one in the Vibe GTs or the Matrix XRS.

So right now its on the first hole, which is pretty much stock, like i said it maybe idles 100 to maybe 200k rpm more at idle. thanks for the warning though, that is something to watch out and be careful of.

I found out first hand too. I adjusted the throttle so there was no slack in the line. For the first 10 minutes of driving it was fine. As soon as the engine warmed up, so did the cable. Without the slack in the cable to compensate for the temperature increase, the throttle opened up on its own. I was pretty embarrassed to go through a drive-thru with the car revving at a constant 3500rpm. A couple minutes later *ding*....CEL.I got so fed up with it that I bought 2 wrenches while I was in town so I could fix it in the parking lot before going home!Quote, originally posted by northvibe »Oh believe me, i had it at the 2nd hole first and it was idling at 3k rpm...yeah a little to high. I'm a little confused. Doesn't heat expand metal? So wouldn't the cable actually have more slack once heated? Just wondering.

there are two little nuts that are on the cable and can adjust to where the cable is held on to the TB by a bracket. you just adjust it so its further away from the TB. hard to explain but just go check out the TB and you'll see what im talking abouut

The plastic rubber tube that encloses the cable must expand when it heats up and put tension on the steel cable. All I know is that the revs kept climbing the hotter the engine bay got.Quote, originally posted by BlueCrush »I'm a little confused. Doesn't heat expand metal? Well, I installed it and then had to take it off because my RPM's were over 1000 at idle. That is because I had already tightened my cable throttle last year. This will not work if you have tightened your cable throttle. This will work if you have not tightened your cable throttle. So with that said, I am selling my Weapon-R throttle rotor for $20 shipped to whoever wants it. It is silver polished like northvibe's.That is $10 less than what I paid for it. My loss its your gain. IM me if interested.EDIT: Throttle Rotor - Sold
