I've been in Germany for a while now (hence less posting) and I'm looking for stuff to do. I'm near Frankfurt and AusFarht (haha AusFarht) and I've already hit the club and bar scene. For those of you that don't know, prostitution is legal here and there are buildings you go to that have floor upon floor of them you choose from. It's called the "Redlight District". Being married....and cheap, I will not participaite in this like other GI's and I'm looking for things to do besides party and drink. I was thinking a trip to Paris, but I can't think of anything else.

quote:Do they still have vending machines all over the place that sell glass bottles of beer for way less than a can of Coke?Yup, they sure do. The beer is also way stronger over here. Weak beer is around 5%, and stronger beer is about 7.5%. I'm feeling good after only 2 bottles. Any-way, I just want to find other stuff to do within 100 miles of Frankfurt so I'm not drinking all the time. I'm told there are castles and stuff you can tour, but I have no idea which ones are worth the drive.I was surprised how much Germany is like the US. Turn on the radio, and half the stations are in english. Rap, rock, alternative, everything. Even a lot of signs are in english. The people are surprisingly friendly considering Germany wants nothing to do with Iraq operations. I really like it here.

I will definately try to get them up when I go home. I don't have my digital, only my film fed camera, so I'll have to scan them in first. The way things are going in the world right now...I may be either sent home early or be extended for a longer time. Just a guess. quote:Flip, if you are able to, take some pics of the scenary, I am german in decent, but never been there. And any Castle would be worthing seeing.

I used to live in Garmisch, Germany. That town is awesome. I loved the mountains, skiing, the outdoors, that place was so nice. My dad was in the army and we were stationed there for 18 months back in '92-93. Germany's largest mountain, the Zugspitze was right out our front door! Oh, man, I miss that place, I want to go back some day.Later,

quote:I want to see Germany, I am hoping to go in a few more years It is well worth it. I really love germany, and even though they don't want military here right now, the people are really nice. It is surprising how kind most of them are. I hope to come back on a vacation so I can hit all of the great scenic places(nude beaches...just kidding). The country is simply beautiful.

I would love to visit Germany, just to see the castles and drive on their roads. My cousin visited their on her 'Europe' tour and said it was one of the nicest countries she's been too. And we have relatives born and whom live their.
