Discs vs. Drums

When dealing with the base and/or AWD, would the conversion to rear discs yield a substantial difference in pedal feel and braking distances vs. the drums? I have noticed that, especially in the wet, braking distances do seem to be a little long, even taking into account the overall light weight and lack of weight over the rear (especially) brakes.

as discussed earlier somplace in the Brakes Thread that the consecous was the cost outweighs any benefit that the rear discs would provide.

Save your money - on FWD, the front brakes probably do 80% of the braking. Better to invest in a top quality set of front pads, IMHO.

Unless you can get the disc setup from a celica GTS, vibe gt or a matrix xrs super cheap, otherwise its not really worth it. Id say try a junk yard, i know some ppl that got theirs for only 40 bucks!

Yeah, unless your going to do some serious track time or competing at some big car shows, you'll be fine with the rear drum brakes.

Thanks! The liklihood of me swapping was low unless I had determined that it was absolutely worth it. Since it doesn't seem to be, and since braking distances aren't awful, I'll keep it as is.
