Keyless Entry Range

I have what seems to be abnormally short keyless entry range. In the cars I've had before this, the range seemed to be quite nice, I could lock and unlock the car from across the house, or about 12-15 parking spots away. Now, my Vibe's remote will only work just barely inside the house or about 3 parking spots away. Does that seem short? Since I'm going to be bringing it in soon for:1st oil changeTire rotationAlignment (it pulls hard left)Tires leak (most are losing about 2 psi every 5 days, one is losing 4!)Thanks!

I think my battery is low in mine, but it seems that it used to be sorta long, 50 feet maybe, :S i know i can do it from my bedroom to my parking spot and its across my yard (college house).

Mine isn't much further, I've been able to lock or unlock about 5-7 car lenghts away. Depends on whether I'm parked next to bigger vehicles or not.

Yeah, I've read GM's bulletins about keyless entry range. They say it can be affected by what cars are nearby, nearby buildings, how warm the air is, how bright the sun is... Basically, unless it is almost dead, the dealer doesn't have to do anything with it. Probably not worth mentioning.

Mine is about 50ft.+/-. Your tire leaks may be contributing to your car pulling to the left, so I would get that taken care of first before spending the money for an alignment.

Don't they have a 7500 mile alignment warranty? The low psi contributes a little, but it is still painfully obvious even with the tires freshly aired up.

why would you want to unlock your car from 12 cars away?? it can be a bad habbit. one day you get a surprize in the back seat.

Actually, I want to be able to lock it from that far away. I forget on occasion and then remember half-way down the parking aisle.

According to GM, the standard key fobs have a 30 foot range, the extended range ones (remote starter equipped cars is 150 feet).

Mine started out far away but then the range decreased alot so I dunno what's up with that.

try placing the fob to your chin and press the button. With several keyless systems this increases the effective range.
