I just got my 2 month old 06 Vibe back from the body shop after they repaired some minor damage caused by someone backing into it in a parking lot. I see a slight haze or film over the front windshield. It looks like something that was sprayed on. I tried two different window cleaners on the inside and outside of the glass, but it won't come off. I think it is on the outside. The windshield was crystal clear before it went into the body shop.Could this be overspray from clearcoating? The repair was to the rear wheel well area on the driver's side so it was not near the windshield but maybe it is overspray from another car they were working on?? Any thoughts?

My guess would be overspray. I have tales of woe that could fill this forum about cars coming back from the body shop with overspray. Take it back and tell them to clean it and give you a rental while you wait.

Also, I am sure the overspray didn't confine itself to only the front windshield. It must also be on the paint, although I don't see any when I look closely. Maybe it is harder to see on the red paint.

try a razor like the straight blade used in box cutters or window scrapers.
