Dell Laptop Battery Recalls

If you have a Dell laptop purchased between April 1, 2004 and July 18, 2006, check out the link below to see if your laptop battery has been recalled for a potential risk of fire.

only batteries are being recalled, not the computers themselves.

filled out the form last night and i should get my new battery in 20 business days...i always thought my laptop got pretty warm...but i think the issue is more about a 'weak spot' in the battery than just high temperature.

If the short is small enough, the battery will slowly drain and just get hot, but if it happens quickly, the gasses build up and the sucker blows.
