Oil leak!

I have a oil leak from the drain plug. I just did a oil change, made sure everything was on as it should be and it is.Should the plug have some kind of gasket? It started doing this over the past few weeks. I've changed the oil every time from the day we got the car myself and don't remember the plug having one but maybe I over looked it? and it fell off last time? It's maybe 2 or 3 drips right from the plug.. but that's 2 or 3 more then I want to see from the vibe.Any ideas? I'm 100% on the location it's leaking from, just have no idea why Nicholas

Yep there is a (should be) fiber gasket on the oil pan drain plug. Mine sticks to the pan or falls off when removing the drain bolt. You should be able to put a new one on your drain bolt by holding your finger over the hole to keep your new oil in.

My 05 AWD does not have a fiber washer or crush washer that ZI know of and I changed my oil 3 times now. I know it is not sticking to the pan since I wipe it clean before reinstalling the plug that I also wipe clean. You can get a crush washer at any parts store though.

1 yes 2 no. I don't see why the thing would leak from the plug anyways...? Maybe I'll try that and hope it works?

There is a cork gasket. Most of the time it sticks to the oil pan and is therefore functional at all times. The manual says for you to replace it after EVERY oil change but you can usually get away with not doing this. I would replace your worn one or add one and see how it works.
