Good luck DV/DM. It's a lot like learning how to waterski...it might take a few starts and getting out is always the hardest part. Hang in there, man; I'm rootin' for ya.Doublemint helps.

Right on man. I smoked from pretty much right out of high school up until a few years ago. I don't really remember exactly when I quit, I just woke up one morning and said "dude, this sucks (removed)" and that was that. No patches, no gum, nothing... Damn it sucked. The cool part quitting cold turkey though, was the irritability. It felt GREAT snapping at people when they got on my nerves. I know that sounds sad and not right for those who had to deal with me, but oh well. I still haven't gotten over nervous habits that I've developed though. I'll chew gum like mad, a pack a day of whatever the sugarless variety of the day may be. Hang in there man... It sucks, but you'll be alright. Don't cave in. It's really easy to say "screw it i'll buy a pack today and after that it's over..." but tomorrow you'll buy another and say "after this pack, i'm done." and the day after, "yep, i'm quittin' after this one..." Good luck to ya man! And if you still need a buzz, instead of buying smokes and gas, just start buying gas and huffing that stuff before putting it in the tank. LOL! A gallon of gas costs about the same as a pack of cheap smokes here, so you can probably get a better buzz for the same money. (removed)! (please don't follow my suggestions on that one, it is strictly meant to be stupid slash funny. lol)

It'll be a wonderful thing to be able to take a deep breath and not hack up a loogie.

Good luck. My old roommate quit smoking twice now I guess. The first time she lasted about 3 months then a killer class schedule and midterms made her start again. She quit again about four months ago and as far as I know is still smoke free. Hopefully she got it this time. You can do it. Just takes a lot of will power.
