Help...

Ok I'v got myself in a mess with the house I purchased... It seems as though some problems were 'covered up' and have now been found by people working on my house with the few things I wanted to have done before moving in. There is leaking in the walls that they said was obviously known about and patched over then painted and the spot with damage to the roof in the rear had a peice of plywood placed inside a hole that we never even saw. My insurance agent told me they are not going to insure the house without these things fixed and that will all be out of my pocket and he suggested I call the guy who sold me the house and he'd come with me, also advising me that the house was sold illegally by him not telling me this and it voided our contract. So I met with the owner and my agent and the guy who sold me the house agree'd to either fix the problems we found out of his pocket since he admitted he covered them up, or he would refund all but my down payment and void our contract. Now I'm stumped as wheither or not I should keep the house, let him fix these problems we found and pray nothing else was covered up, or put my money back in the bank and look around for another house and bring an inspector who knows what they are doing to help me find a decent house... This was the biggest freaking letdown ever. Finally pay for a house to get back on my feet again and the house was a complete coverup...
