Sup all. New to the site and this is my first post. So on to the question. I'm fighting intake temp and air flow. Which would be better? I know the stock intake tube is still under the engine bay, but wouldn't that be better than an open short ram in the middle of the engine bay? Oh it's a stock 03 GT, Thanks for any info.

If you're having problems with intake temperature try a cold air intake. if you're just having problems with air flow then you can go with either Short Ram or CAI. I have a cold air for '03 base... if it'll fit the gt let me know.

Anyone try rerouting the stock intake tubing somewhere more effecient than the stock radiator support location?

I would go with a CAI on the Vibe GT. It's the best one for it. You will get both more air flow and lower intake temps

I think i'm going to go short ram so i don't have to worry about water consumption. Anyone know a good website to buy a K&N typhoo SRI? Thanks. BTW what's up with the crappy A/C performance and the noisy valvetrain in these cars?

The stock intake takes air from the front of te car over the left headlight and shouldn't be too hot. A CAI will defenitely help flow but the dar will actually be a bit slower and less responsive below 3.5k but stronger above. If that works for you, get a CAI. Drop ins don't do much and all the gause filters let in more dirt and can oil foul the MAF. Reports on AEMs dry flow cylinder filters have been good on filtering and they flow great. Wix (NAPA Gold) is a very good fiber drop in. More surface area with good material and seal.
