Are the oil filters from the two different vibe engines interchangable ?I remember someone telling me that the GT filter is larger but screws into the base engine. Can anyone confirm this for me.Thanx

Yes, the larger Toyota/Denso filter (A1 = old, F1 = new) is perfectly fine on the 1ZZFE engine. The only visual difference is the extended length of the cannister (more filtrate). The ADBV bypass PSI is almost the same between the two filters and the slight difference in volume will not cause oil pressure issues on this engine. Some Toyota dealers do substitute the larger filter for the smaller one on Corollas and Matrixs w/the 1ZZFE, but obviously GM/Pontiac is a different story. As for me, I'm still under warranty and yet I do run the larger filter...I can't see why this would be an issue when companies like WIX only make the larger size as a universal application for the Vibe/Matrix/Corolla. My Toyota Parts Guy said either the F2 or F1 is fine.He suggested to try the longer F1, probably less than 1" longer. It seems easier to reach for me. Don't know if the tiny bit more oil helps or not.
