Holy crap! I just about died going from Ohio a Fault State to Michigan, a No-Fault State! No Fault stinks IMO! Yeah I know it has advantages, so does fault though! Once you hit 30 you will see it go down a bit!

(in november)it'll drop, but not until your next renewal. i turned 25 last july. i had just renewed my policy in june. no price drop until december (actually, i took advantage of the situation and found better rates through a different company). so, if you sign a new 6-mo policy now, and your birthday is in november, you won't see cheaper rates 'til you renew again in february.

Here's what I found out the hard way! All along I thought it was 25, so when I turned 25 I called my insurance co and asked if my rates would go down. Guess what I found out? She said it's not until you have 10yrs driving experience with a license! So basically, the earliest you could get it is 26! Good thing I got mine in TX when I was 16, b/c here in CA you have to be 18 to get a license! That would be 28yo for them! It did go down a little though once I turned 26, but it still sucks b/c of where I live.

i've been legally driving since i was 15. in IL, you get a permit, and have to put in X ammount of hours before you can take the test to get your license.

I'm sure different co's do it differently.

Even after my at fault accident and 2 tickets, i'm still paying LESS than if i had my perfect driving/accident record with another company NOT including my renters insurance! and good thing drunken girlfriend helped you out on the insurance! i find that smaller ins co's can't be as competitive (pricing) as the big co's. and i DID get a discount when i turned 21 and also when i turned 25 at renewal. and if you are married, you get an even BIGGER discount.

I think I did once get a quote from them and it was not any cheaper than what I have now. From what I have heard, if you can get the insurance co I have now, you are best to stay with it as they are usually a lot cheaper than any others. I have had them now for like almost 5 yrs and have not had any problems with them whatsoever other than when they raised my rates b/c I moved to a high crime, low-income, all around bad neighborhood. Even then they explained themselves. Might have to look into USAA again though just to be sure.

They never call back!Drops in Insurance premiums occur at 25. as well as getting married!! when I got married. My innsurance went lower than b4 marraige after adding a driver and another vehicle.

It's only available in California, Oregan, and Canada.
http://www.wawanesa.com/ I pay 20% the first month, and 10% for the next 8 months, then have the last 3 months free of charge. Total I paid $1504 this year for full coverage on a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab and a 2004 Pontiac Vibe base. We got Multi-Car, Good Driver, and Persistency discounts. I paid $300 up front in Dec(20%) and $155 per month from Jan-Aug(10%), with Sept, Oct, and Nov free. I just made my last payment for this year, so for the next 3 months I don't have to worry about it! BTW, I was 26yo and my wife was 25yo when the policy began.

You can check out esurance, Travelers, Liberty and Amica. Amica, I hear is great, but they are very strict with who they insure. They won't insurance anyone who has tickets, or accidents on their records.

Lemme tell ya, getting married helps a lot. Moving from Jersey to GA, I went from $200 per month with Allstate, and almost went to $267!I went to Geico for a few months and it dropped to $142, then got married and went back to allstate. Now I pay $123 a month for my 03 GT, and my wife's '00 Grand Am with one speeding ticket.(The ticket was on hers!)

That's nuts dude! I'm paying over $1,000 less for car payments and insurance combined on my car over the same one year period, and I have a high car payment! I feel sorry for youse guys, that stinks.

Yea its a bit rediculous, but my dad said its better to pay more now than to be upside down later. He raised the #'s on the liability and personal coverage because like he said, if I was ever the cause of an accident that the normal $20,000 wouldn't cover anything as far as medical or vehicle damages. Even careful drivers can cause accidents unintentionally he said and last year i saw the shizzle happens phrase come to life, so its play it safe.

I understand that... I had always carried lower limits due to financial constraints but when I bought the Accent, the agent made a good point that what I had wouldn't pay for much these days since cars are getting so bloody expensive, etc... So I bumped everything up quite a bit and it only ended up being $4 more a month, wow.

at the end of the year the policy will be renewed and supposably state farm lowers your rates a % when your 21 and then your big % when your 25. If my #'s drop I'm gonna leave their plan and try and shop around for lower rates. Those payments were fine with my old job, but now with my back I'm stuck working fast food until I can go to school and thats not easy to afford on these wages.

i agree with raising your coverage limits. i got mine at 100k. reason is that i see quite a few Maybachs during he week. hell, those new bently continetal gt's. a 50k coverage wouldn't cover the rims if i ran in to one.
