Stereo Upgrade options

My wife drives a 2005 with the M&T package and the single disc changer. We are currently exploring options to get her multi-disc capability. From what I can gather reading here and there, we have a couple options if we wish to stay factory. The nav sys has 6 disc in dash or I can get a satellite 6 disc under the front seat?My question is where can I purchase these components with shelling out an arm and a leg at the dealer, and what do you users recommend?thx-dgw

The Factory Nav has the satelite changer under the seat.it's not too hard finding the head unit. try ebay. expect to pay around 500$ for the nav unit, then you have to find the satelite changer (hard to find). you can always try looking for the factory 6disc changer (in dash).

I hope this isn't seen as hijacking a thread, but your post points to a gripe that I have with stereo upgrades in general. Why is it that with all of the aftermarket head units available, they're all:a) single-DIN, so they look like an afterthought in most cars,b) over-featured, so look like a miniature version of the Vegas strip in the middle of the dashboard, andc) equipped with lots of tiny buttons that make them difficult (not to mention hazardous) to use while driving?Prior to the release of the Sirius box for GM vehicles, I looked for an aftermarket head unit, but gave up because everything looked (in my opinion) out of place in my Vibe. I like the flashy dash lighting, but for safety I prefer a cleaner look for the controls I have to adjust while I'm driving (i.e., climate control, sound system, wipers, etc.).I suspect this lack of simple aftermarket head units might be because most of the aftermarket makers also make OEM units for one or more automakers, and they don't want to (removed) in the punchbowl...

I got one for my Dad's 2005 with M&T and it works great. One from any year Vibe will work, or one from a 2003/2004 Matrix.I installed a remote 10-disc CD/MP3 changer to my factory 1CD under the passenger seat. This will be a little more difficult for you since the M&T amplifier is under the passenger seat, but you might find room. My post on it:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=22835
