Theres a sticky at the very top of this board that will tell you every thing you want to know.

yeah i read that, but i'm fairly novice at DIY electrical things so i was looking towards an easier option if there's one out there. also trying to steer away from having to put a DPDT switch in my car. it might come to that way though..

Unfortunately, your only option is to break into your 6CD and wire it in per the sticky. If that's not an option for you, you might consider an FM modulator (not "transmitter") which pipes it in directly to the antenna input. A few members here have them, and are happy with the sound quality.

thought so...anyone know of different switches out there that don't look like the DPDT ones. i just don't like the looks of them, they look too cheesy or something to me, look like a NOS switch..

I'm sure I could find something close.

I would think you could find a pushbutton like that.. Latch in / latch out. It'd take some searching, but if you can find a 'real' electronics store (not radio shack) you may be able to scrounge something up.

you can always get a different switch. or even HIDE the switch in one of the cubbies... plenty to choose from.

Some swtiches. When you get to the page, click in the "Datasheet" link to see what they look likeDecent DPDT rocker:
