Here is a list of approximate temps for the coolant gauge. I've been using the ScanGauge II to report these values and will continue to update this post as I make additional runs and average out the values.(FYI: This is for a 2004 Base Vibe with automatic trans, 8 runs, edited 7/27)Gauge Mark -- Temp (Fº / Cº)0..........................125.8 / 52.11..........................139 / 59.42..........................151.6 / 66.43..........................165 / 73.94..........................181 / 82.85..........................--- / -- *6..........................--- / --*I've discarded my first measurement because I've not been able to reach the 5th mark in subsequent runs.

mines a 5-speed... adn usually runs at the 5 mark... 197!!! sure is hot.

Wouldn't "0" be the current ambient temp? I don't think I've ever seen my guage past 4.

Mine runs at where 4.5 would be, it goes there at 170 and stays in the same place all the way to 219 (thats is as hot as it has run). I have the old/ugly SG...what a great tool.

Nothing over 194? I think you need to find a way to make your cooling system malfunction so you'll be able to give us all the rest of the numbers as the gauge gets near H! Cool info. JohnC points out some good info too, once the gauge gets to that one spot, it sits there - it no longer becomes proportional to engine temperature at some points on the gauge.

Anyone ever run a engine oil cooler? Im thinking of getting one (if one will fit) to go along with my tranny cooler....

I had 2 '05 Vibes (still have one) and would move the ScanGauge back and fourth between the two. One runs steady at the 4 position and the other ran at the 5 position but both indicated the same on the ScanGauge (182-186). Obviously there are variations between one factory gauge and another.

ZEG...You might want to stop by a gas station, you're running low.

I don't have enough data to publish yet...will need a couple more tanks to have something usable.I'm beginning to notice the same effect JohnC described; that is, the gauge gets between the 4th and 5th tick marks and hangs around there. I've seen temps between 188F and 194F while the gauge is halfway between those points.
