I'd like to share with you my audio syteme installation. I know this installation is very basic but for anyone who do not want to spend 2 weeks to install an audio system, it is perfect.1st: Installing the 8 gauge wire from the batterie. The 40 amp. fuse older can be screw very easely to the plastic part near the fuse box, at the top of the fender.

2nd: Then, the wire pass through the firewall by this place.

3rd: Route the wiring up to the trunk. I pass the wiring (8 gauge wire, remote and RCA) under the plastic, at the bottom of the door. Then I driller a hole to get in the trunk.

4th: I used the hole for child seat pin to get into the trunk.

This is the final install of my 12" JL audio subwoofer.

Now, I increased the base, but to balnace, we need to add high frequencies. I add 2 aftermarket twitters and I put thEm at the bottom of the A pilar. They are plugged with the front speakers and I put a crossover to cut bass in tweeters and cut high in front doors.

Upgrading the speakers it's ok, but for good quality, you may need to upgrade the head unit also. I went for the Pionner DEH-8400MP.

Install looks good, Ben. Only thing is, that install would last one night where I live before the back window got smashed.

Is your brake fluid reservoir low? Looking at the first picture, it looks low.

Alarms help, but an insurance company would get upset if everytime you install a sub, it gets ripped. LoL I've been very lucky with my GA when it was on the street. My subs fit nicely into the trunk, put the seat back up and no subs. Out of sight, out of mind. Will the cargo cover fit over the speaker in the back?

mine fits good, you can't see them at all.....

May be mechanic didn't filed it up. I also notice brake, power stering and engine coolant were not full, but between the full and low (closer to the low) level when I picked up my Vibe.

Thanks for the Pic's Ben! Routing the power to the rear has been keeping me from hooking up my Kenwood powered sub-woofer (sort of like a bass-bazooka) - Getting through the firewall has been the "scarey" part.I also need to decide how to drive it - It has RCA jacks as well as the ability to take input off of speakers. I spliced into the speaker lines in my S-10 and it sounded ok. I want to do the audio on a shoestring not because I can't afford it, but because I'm feeling CHEAP!

Great pics. I didn't even think of running the wires the same way, I have my amp under the back seat and the wires run up the back of the seat.

Ben, I see from your sig line that you have an amp somewhere... is that under a seat? How does that fit in with the wiring you've done? Sorry if I missed this and its already been asked and answered.

Take a look on the top of teh sub box, follow the wiring, there's my amp.I'll try to put it somewhere else when temp will become less cold. I figure out putting it under the trunk plate.

I made a little clean up and remove the amp from the top of the sub and put it in the tire compartmentNow it looks like this

Awesome, man. You did the exact same thing I'd like to do - put the amp upside down in the spare tire well. Could you possibly post some more detailed pictures and explanation of how you did it? (Including how you ran the wires through the dash and under the doors.)Also, some questions: Does your amp get enough ventilation in there? How hard is it to get the spare tire out in an emergency? Thanks!
