beer was affected, but not too bad. i had to take it out of the fridge so i didn't keep opening and closing it. all of the gas stations were closed, so i couldn't get more, but i lucked out, i had one beer to spare after the night was over wednesday.here is a pic of from my front porch after the wind subsided. the water got higher as it rained more. (poor quality, from cell phone, i had to tweak the brightness due to low light) notice how the water is over the curb going onto the sidewalk!

WOWSERS! That's pretty much what my street looked like back in June when we got about 4 inches of rain in a couple of hours.Almost makes you think about moving, eh?

Send some over this way! We're about to go on Stage 4 water restrictions, and we're having to water the house's foundation with buckets to keep it from cracking!

it never ends, i swear. we were stayng at my aunt and uncle's house because they had power. i found out the power at my house had been restored. the latest storm just nailed the area, and now aunt and uncles power is out and the roof is leaking. i don't know if my house is ok or not.

to make it worse, i'm stuck at work and can't leave unless there is a big emergency. i have about 20 beers at my disposal waiting for me to return, that should be enough to chill me out. damn, i'm kind of stressed here.

DV are you anywhere near Earth City Missouri? We have a plant down there and they are without power--went out yesterday, then came back on. Out again today and supposed to be out for 3 days. Did they get the same storm you got? That's freaky--I hope your house is ok!

things are getting worse as the day progresses. thankfully my aunt and uncles house has power restored. where i live, the power isn't only out, the water has been turned off now as well. the damage is now even worse, there are power lines all over the roads. it really sucks.thankfully, i came home and have been slugging down beers since about 2pm, it helps a bit.

holy monkey! the gas stations have been crazy today! there are several police at them and people have been buying water and ice, you have to wait in line to get into the parking lots! there are long lines to get free water at the fire station. and, to boot, there are now several house fires all over the place, with no water to put them out! thank god i am now drunk at this point!

I may not be totally right in the head I guess, but I always loved the chaos when mother nature came through and really messed things up. I guess that's why I was a firefighter/emt for so long.Sorry to hear about your town. Bad times wont last forever.
